Lume is a 32-seat dining room on the south end of Williamsburg, anchored by a wood-burning hearth visible from every table. The menu changes with what the Greenmarket brings us — short pastas, whole fish, vegetables charred over coals, and a bread program that runs from morning to last call.
We opened in 2019 with one rule: nothing leaves the kitchen we wouldn't eat ourselves. Five years and a Resy Hit List later, that rule is still on the wall above the pass.
We cook for the people who walked here. Twice a week we still drive to Union Square ourselves — what's in the truck on Tuesday morning is what's on the menu Tuesday night. That's the whole game.
